Just a quick email, unsolicited and I was not paid any money to recommend Dragon Image products. My name is Rob Bini and I own and run Inmode photography, I shoot a mixture of commercial, fashion and celebrities (clients include some of Sydney's top model agencies, Inside Sport magazine, Ice magazine UK, Nuts magazine UK, Info Link magazine, Dreamboat marketing, both UK and Australia, Denlo divas calendar, emap and Auto Salon magazine and to many more to include in this list)..
I have been dealing with Dominic, (both Melbourne and Sydney) for aprox. 2 years, in this time frame I have both purchased products from Dragon Image and hired lighting all around Australia, nothing is ever too hard for Dominic and he is always very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The studio lights that we hire all around Australia are very efficient and reliable and able to take quite a pounding. The RL330A portable battery pack operated studio flash is nothing short of amazing, at 500wtts there is ample power, the recharge rate is the fastest that I have ever used, (including rival products more than three times the price) and the construction is very robust, recently at a weekend photo shoot in Melbourne an RL330A light was very badly bashed, (the side housing had a 1.5inch indentation) as soon as I saw this I thought no way this light will work, to my amazement the light kept working for the rest of the weekend without a problem, (if that is not build quality I don't know what is!!!).The cost of the products, (both to hire or purchase) is also very reasonable, anyway,Dominic keep up the good work and the relentless pursuit of excellence, both myself and colleagues that I have recommended your services to will continue using Dragon Image without no question of a doubt.. cheers mate.. Starshots Glamour Photography is the leading Glamour studio in Australia with 14 studios across the country. On fitting out our latest Studio (Starshots at Hornsby Westfield Shopping Center in NSW) we contacted Dominique at “Dragon Image” and could not be happier.

Dragon Image was able to advise on the latest equipment and technology available, and fitted out the entire studio, from backdrop support units, lighting stands, reflectors, to their new Hyundai Digital flash heads and radio slaves.

Departing from the traditional brands like Bxxxxx and Exxxxxxxx, which have been the staple diet of our studios for 13 years, we have found the Hyundai DF range of digital heads extremely consistent and reliable with excellent color temperature and to date, not one bad exposure. The range of accessories is astounding and I don’t think the price could be beaten.

But beyond the excellent quality of the equipment, is the service. Dragon Image are willing and able to help…..and , lets face it, setting up a Studio is a daunting task. The team at Dragon Image, headed by Dominique have been incredibly helpful and have won our business by the quality of service alone.

Dear Dominic and Paul

My name is Richard Butler, and about a week ago I came into your Collingwood store to do some checking of product and price. I was in the market for a simple 500w/s output flash system with some soft boxes.

I am voluntarily writing this letter to provide my recommendation for Dragon Image above and beyond other retailers of studio flash and associated lighting equipment. You did not ask me to write it, and you haven’t had the opportunity to have input to the letter. A saved copy of this email is being kept for any comparison.

The first impression was really positive:
Paul was really helpful - and on 2 subsequent visits remembered my name and the type of enquiry I had, and the gear I had in mind. Paul showed me different quality umbrellas, softsbox and barn doors and all of the features and important benefits relevant to the equipment and my application.

The equipment was openly and objectively compared to other brands:
What you will find is that Dragon Image's equipment is equal to or better than major brands with major marketing budgets.

Included in the list of "Better than's" are: warranty (200% better), price, electrical safety standards, quality of carry case, robustness of the stands, colour temperature consistency, relationship between flash and modeling lamps, quality of the soft boxes, over-ride keys, and more.

Where the other brands may have an edge - is in re-sale price - and the hardness of the outer dye casting cosmetic.
The cynic in me wants to say... "if you’re a show pony, motivated by Brand and how good something looks - think twice before you buy a better product at a cheaper price - because when the glitz wears off - you wont get as much for the Dragon gear as you might with the other brands on the secondary markets..."

But if you’re serious, and you want to buy something that surpasses what’s in the market at higher prices - then my unreserved recommendation is that you stop looking and buy from Dragon Image.

Here's what else I found - I took Dragon's advice. I shopped around. I went to 3 other physical retailers and shopped on line. I got a WRITTEN QUOTE for what seemed to be a far better kit. I fact with a free battery pack chucked in (IN WRITING) the deal on paper was about $700 better than Dragons. So I called them up and spoke to Dominic about it. Within half an hour Dominic called back and explained where the product had been mis-represented by a weekend part time sales assistant at the other retailer. I called the retailer and cross checked - and Dominic was right.
They had made a serious mistake and were really stuck if I wanted to pursue them for the deal.

Well - I wasn’t going to do that. Dragon earned my business hands down.

They are impeccably polite, treated me with respect, treated me with honesty, they value added the deal with both some extra things but most importantly with their service.

So what would you do? Go to where you might be served by a part timer who doesn’t have their stuff together - or buy from someone prepared to steer you through the 12 major buying points and the 12 major points of comparison - and then set you onto the market to test their honesty and integrity.

Do yourself a favor. Life’s is too hard and too short. Trust these guys and buy from them. They are the best - and the photographic industry needs successful business people who know their products and stand by what they say and what they deliver.

Oh and one last thing - if you want - call me and ask me again and Ill tell you what I’ve said here. But if you want to hear my voice - you’re welcome to do so. I warn you 'though - I’m just going to tell you what you have already read here.
